How to Compare Reasonably Priced Cable Television Packages

Every cable company offers reasonably priced cable television packages, so there are a few components to consider before deciding on which company provides the package that will work best for the family needs, budgets, and preferences. The first thing to consider is how to save money on the services that the household needs. Cable television is one service, and if that is all that is needed, there are a few packages from which to choose. A preferred television package provides over two-hundred channels for one low monthly rate, with no contract to sign. Some companies require a two or three year contract in order to get the best rate.

Adding internet services to a cable television package will save the family more money. If internet is used in the household, it is better to get both services for one price, than to pay two separate bills at higher rates. Options for a television and internet package include less channels and the highest speed of internet service, or more channels and high speed internet. If the family plays more games online than it watches television, the highest speed is the better choice. If television is enjoyed more, and the internet used for just Email and social media, getting more channels would be the best option. If the family prefers to stream shows and movies, as opposed to watching television, there are four internet only bundle options available. Compare what is offered in each package for the monthly price.

The best way to save the most money is to select a complete package that includes cable television, internet, and cell phone services. The newest bundles are designed to allow maximum freedom in streaming, texting, and available channels. Complete packages require no contracts to get the lowest pricing. If services are canceled within the first twelve months, there is a small fee, but after a year, no fees exist for cancellation. That allows the family to adjust packages to suit changing needs. If a child goes off to college, for example, a deluxe package includes a free application that allows participants to call and text around the world. If everyone is tired of commercials, and decides to get rid of the television altogether, they can combine cell phone and internet services.

Can You See The Green?

I saw a very interesting documentary not too long ago. A movie crew gave a homeless man $100,000.00 and then followed him around to see how and if the money would change his life. This gentleman was living under an overpass in Southern California. The film crew followed him around for a bit before deciding he would be the one they would give the money too and he didn’t know until he opened a briefcase in the dumpster they had planted it in that he was to be given this money. The results while interesting were not surprising.

In order to give this gentleman as much support as possible, they even gave him access to a financial planner which he turned down. To make a long story short, within a year the man had blown through all of the money and was back living on the streets. Ted (the gentleman that received the money) simply gave it all away. While watching this, I could tell that he wasn’t giving it away because he wasn’t smart about finances; he was giving it away because his wasn’t a life that existed with money. His was a life that existed out on the streets. Living on the streets was in his comfort zone. Yes you read that right, living on the streets was in his comfort zone. He didn’t like it, and if you were to ask him, he would tell you he would rather have a home to live in instead of being out on the streets. Regardless of that, it homelessness still existed within his comfort zone. Having money did not. Ted has a mind set of being poor and homeless so no matter what, he will always make sure that his reality matches his mind set even if it’s on a subconscious level.

So many people have a very similar situation when it comes to finances that Ted does. Maybe not to the extreme of being homeless, but how many times have you said, “If I could just pay my bills, I’d be happy”? The funny thing is that I’ve not met anyone who has actually just paid their bills and been happy about their finances. Remember we all create our own reality and that means the reality that our finances are in right now as well. This is exactly why the poor get poorer and the rich get richer. It isn’t because of lucky breaks and tax loop holes. It is because many rich people have a mindset of wealth. Warren Buffet was asked one time how his life was different now that he was the 2nd richest man in the world. The interviewer was caught a bit off guard when he replied with, “Well, I can afford anything I want know, but then again I always knew I could.” That is a pretty powerful statement. In his mind he always knew that he would be able to afford anything so when money started presenting itself, he didn’t freak out about it and not know what to do.

This is where visualization comes in. You see our minds work strictly off of memory so when you think finances, it immediately runs a video of what your current experience with finances may be. You have to create a new memory for your brain, ones that invoke emotions. You have to change your mindset from one of broke or just getting by, to one of wealth however you define financial wealth. If you don’t, you too will begin to give away the extras that come your way. Not necessarily by handing it to someone, but by unhealthy spending. So how do you create that mindset of wealth? Well that’s easy, just close your eyes and see it.

Fall is about to be here. The air is getting crisper and the fashion is getting, well, better designed for cooler temperatures. What five fall essentials should every man have handy this autumn? Fall fashion for men should combine the comfort of keeping warm while enjoying the outdoor weather with the combination of stylish fall colors and accents. Here are five fall must-haves for men’s fashion this year.

A Dapper Scarf

Scarves have been an important fashion accessory for several years now. For this fall, we’re recommending either a plaid pattern using warm fall tones of gold, beige and chocolate brown or, if you’re looking for a splash of color to accent your muted fall color clothing, a dark hunter green. Not only will a scarf add a splash of color or accent to your outerwear, it will also keep you warm as temperatures drop.

Stylish Sports Fan Gear

Fall means the return of football, hockey and a collection of other fall sports. This year, don’t be the sports fan wearing the old, worn-down t-shirt that you’ve had for a decade. In today’s word, there are plenty of stylish options, including Polar Fleece, that show your team support while also showing that you know how to dress.

Gold Cuff Links

Every man needs a pair of cuff links to accent his daytime suit or evening formal wear, and for fall the color for cuff links is gold to offset the warmer fall colors. Whether you’re accenting a power suit, a casual dress shirt or a tuxedo, opt for gold on the cuffs this fall.

Leather Gloves

At some point in the fall, you will need gloves. When you do, opt for leather, preferably in a fall shade of brown. Not only do leather gloves speak of sophistication, but they also hold up well throughout the season – and the mean that you don’t look like you’ve gone skiing just because you’re keeping your hands warm.

A Fedora

The fedora is the hat of the moment! This classic hat style is all over fall fashions this year. Don’t be left out. Look for one again in a chocolate brown or fall plaid to complete your autumn outerwear look.

Every man can be fashionable all year round. These five items in your fall wardrobe mean that you’ll be a man of style as fall sets in. So make sure to make a fashion statement this year and get the ball to roll.

The Politics Of Fashion

Everyone knows that clothes make the man. From the executive

suits that litter Wall Street like the remnants of a ticker-tape

parade to the coveralls and work boots worn by construction

workers and mechanics, clothes tell the story of who we are and

where we’re going. Even when the workday is done, what we

choose to wear on our own time is still a reflection of our

personalities. From the sweat-suit to the wet-suit, our clothes

are meant to be not only functional, but forthcoming as well.

Clothes tell others what we like, and often, how we spend our

time. Sports franchise logos are constantly on display on Main

Street America. T-shirts with well known television, film and

music icons can be seen almost anywhere. Clothes have

something to say, and people are beginning to realize that the

responsibility of being a walking billboard requires us to choose

Now, more than ever, politics are entering the realm of fashion.

Blatantly political phrases and slogans are becoming more

prevalent on the backs of the public than the bumpers of

cars. There are even items of clothing that advertise specific

candidates or political parties and were actually purchased

by someone, somewhere (not obtained as a door prize at a

party fundraiser). But what options exist for those who like

a little subtlety with their agenda? Enter the merger of

socially conscious art and clothing. Less politically charged

and infinitely more fashionable, boutique clothiers have

created garments that are the realization of the finite

balance between the message and the medium. Using art

as the instrument of exchange and clothing as the canvas,

these pioneers of significancy are providing people with a

method of expressing themselves both in figure and in

fact. What better way for entrepreneurs to meet the

demands of a public that is focused on reflecting a belief

in both style and substance.

Spring 2011 Fashion Trends for Women

The fashion trends for Spring 2011 will be a welcome change to “real” women everywhere. Instead of clothes that would only look good on a size 2 teenager, designers chose to show a variety of figure-flattering, figure forgiving clothes in luxurious fabrics and colors.

With a little bit of modification, these styles can be easily incorporated into anyone’s wardrobe.

Trend #1: Full cut trousers

For the past several seasons, designers like Marc Jacobs have mined the 70s look. This time, instead of a boho-hippie influence, we get the 70s look from the movie the “Ice Storm”. Think groovy pantsuits as they would have been worn in suburban Connecticut

These pants are mid to high rise, which may look strange after over a decade of low cut, hip slung jeans, and the inadvertent thong show that followed. This is a welcome change, as is the possibility of eliminating muffin top without having to diet.

Wear this style with a tucked in blouse, a skinny belt and wedge heels for an easy and stylish work look.

Trend #2: Maxi dresses

What could be easier than a long, loose dress? Today’s styles are slim, but not tight, and made with drapey fabrics like jersey.

Like everything else, it’s the details that count. To avoid looking like Mrs. Roper from “Three’s Company”, steer clear of Hawaiian prints or paisley. Instead, opt for solid colors in nudes or in the sure-to-be-everywhere color this spring: a soft mint green.

Trend #3: Pajama dressing

Yes, this is literally what some designers and fashion editors are calling this trend.

Loose pants tied at the waist, and boxy tees worn with a housecoat over them may seem like what most of us wear when we are home sick, not high fashion. But these basics are elevated when the pants are made of cashmere or silk, the tees are whisper thin and layered over each other and the over coat is in a dark shade like navy or black.

Also shown were dresses that looked like long, satin nightgowns. Of all the trends, this is perhaps the riskiest, fashion wise. Unless you work in a creative field, coming to work dressed in these clothes will probably draw some puzzled looks from your co-workers.

Trend #4: Bold colors

Although there were models on the runway wearing head to toe orange, electric blue and neon orange, even the designers tempered this style by pairing their clothes with plenty of whites and blacks. The result was a fresh way to update the basic neutrals most of us have in our closet.

Another way color was used this season was in the use of prints. Fruit themed prints were used, as were sailor-type stripes. The trend of mixing prints continues to be strong, as stripes were shown with flower prints. Kept in the same color family, this combination works.

These are just a few of the trends for Spring, and it is a promising one. Designers seemed to respond to the economy by presenting clothes that can be worn in a variety of seasons, from day to night, and in silhouettes that are timeless. Investment dressing may finally be brought to the masses to mean not a three thousand dollar purse, but a $150 lightweight cashmere sweater you’ll wear all year long.

6 Fashion Tips for Gardeners

Clothes and skin cream are far removed from potting out your begonias, or digging a trench for a line of potatoes. But the clothes you wear are important for your protection in the garden. Here are six simple but effective solutions to various gardening hazards…

1. Starting from the top, you need to protect your head. Body heat escapes through the head and in the cold weather a warm hat should be worn. Knit yourself a ‘gardening crazy’ hat or buy a simple woollen hat on the high street.

And in the summer, even more attention should be paid to the head. The sun’s rays are not only hot but they actually burn you. We all know this but how easy it is to forget when you want to soak up the sun after months of grey or cold weather. Invest in a cool sunhat. Not only will it help protect you from sunstroke, it will also protect against the drying out of your hair and skin.

2. Keep one old comfortable jacket or short coat, preferably with fairly large pockets, especially for the garden. When you’re working, you won’t need to worry about dirty marks. Leave them there, it’s all part of the gardener’s designer uniform!

3. Suitable trousers.. again keep a couple of old pairs especially for gardening. Wear heavy duty jeans for heavy duty work. A good waterproof pair are handy in damp climates. In fact, in damp climates, a whole waterproof gardening suit is invaluable. There is always planting to do in the rain, and a waterproof hat, jacket and trousers tucked in a pair of boots will keep you nice and dry!

4. Protect your hands. For light work, potting on or pinching out tomato plants, a disposable plastic pair of gloves or a pair of kitchen rubber gloves will be enough. For heavier work – pruning roses, weeding thistles and nettles, wear heavy duty gardening gloves, or your hands will suffer.

5. Watch those toes! Invest in a pair of steel toe capped boots and wear them! If you’re pottering in the greenhouse or doing a little weeding, a simple pair of wellington boots will do, or even sandals if the weather allows. But as soon as you pick up a large tool, your steel toe-caps should be worn. If you’re not used to them, these boots can feel heavy and cumbersome at first, but stick with it. If you’re doing heavy work, you need heavy boots.

6. And last but certainly not least, you must protect your skin. Moisturise all exposed body parts whenever you are woking in the garden, rain or shine. Working outside will give you a nice healthy glow, but the wind and sun will dry your skin given half a chance.

So there we have it, not a fashion designer’s dream, but these 6 garden fashion tips will make life a lot more comfortable, and safer, for the average home gardener. Happy gardening!
